Your Health and Safety Procedures
As a result of Covid-19 we drew up new protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both our guests and our HH team. These protocols are to reassure guests that the necessary procedures have been put in place to keep them safe, and we closely followed our local government guidelines. We are members of the Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) and we also have the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Safe Travel accreditation.
Accommodation
Our accommodation partners are selected by us for their high standards, and the hotels we use are generally small and often family-run. We liaise closely with them to ensure they follow government recommended health, safety and cleanliness procedures. On some of our Australian tours the group stays in private lodges and houses where we are responsible for our own cleaning. In these circumstances we regularly clean communal areas and make available cleaning and sanitising products for guests to use if required.
Food Preparation
Our alfresco picnic lunches are an integral part of our tours. All Tour Managers complete food safety training and follow strict protocols during the preparation of food. We eat in a variety of restaurants and trattorias on the tours, with whom we have excellent and long-standing relationships. We often dine alfresco or use private dining areas.
Transport
In general, our travel distances are less than one hour. Increased hygiene protocols have been introduced for our vehicles, with regular thorough cleaning and hand sanitizer use before every embarkation. It is your choice whether to wear a mask in the Hedonistic Hiking minibus, and we recommend wearing a FFP2/N95 face mask. Sanitisation of high-contact areas are carried out overnight.
Staff
Our small professional team of Tour Managers are up to date with all new safety protocols and have been trained in our new procedures.
Equipment
Equipment used on our tours is subject to increased cleaning measures, while hand sanitizer is provided throughout trips. HH guests are encouraged to bring their own face masks, as well as personal hand sanitizer, to ensure additional levels of protection.
Contact with Covid-19
We ask you to report to the Tour Staff any COVID symptoms immediately, so that appropriate action can be taken to safeguard the rest of the group. We carry Lateral Flow/RAT tests but recommend that you also have a personal supply and test regularly if you start to develop symptoms.
Pre-trip Information
Our pre-tour information includes up-to-date Covid regulations in the area you are travelling to. We ask you to acknowledge that you understand them and will abide by the advice to keep the group safe and well.
Terms and Conditions
We continue to revise our T&Cs to reflect the new challenges of travel. The full document will be sent on booking, or you can download a copy from the Tour Page on the website.
Holiday with Confidence
The nature of our tours gives us confidence that we can travel safely and continue to offer guests an enjoyable and authentic experience. Our small groups have a maximum of 16 guests, we spend the majority of our time in the fresh open air, and usually we are in relatively remote areas with few other tourists. Our off-the-beaten-track routes take us to less populated museums and attractions and we visit areas outside the peak tourist seasons.
